And now…the time has come….
Three years ago I started a blog because the Youth Pastor at our church said “You should start a blog”.
I’m simple like that!
It’s been fun trying to come up with interesting stuff, working out my thoughts on things or just surfing the net looking for funny things.
But I think it’s run it’s course. I’m starting to feel guilty everytime I remember I haven’t posted in a while and that can’t be a reason to keep it alive.
So I’m saying ‘goodnight’!
I appreciate everyone who’s come here and taken time to read my thoughts or maybe laugh at something, when we all know you have better things to do!
My last thought is this; Give God your best – your best work, your best play, your best parenting, your best husbanding or wifing (I’m sure that’s a word in some language), your best devotion, your best alone time and your best worship.
Give God your everything.
And if you happen to be in Chilliwack,BC,Canada sometime – come to Promontory Church and flag me down. I’m the bald guy leading worship!
blessings and God’s love to you all!

Worst song lyrics ever
“I wish it was Sunday, that’s my fun day, My I-don’t-have-to-run day” – The Bangles ‘Manic Monday’
What exactly is a ‘have-to-run day’? Because I have kids my automatic first thought was bowel movements….
Worst song lyrics ever
“I don’t like cities,
But I like New York,
Other places,
Make me feel like a dork” – Madonna ‘I love New York’
and that’s why she’s number 2 on the all-time top artist list behind the Beatles, in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame and one of the top 25 most powerful women of the 20th Century!
Worst song lyrics ever
“Coast to coast, L.A. to Chicago” – Sade ‘Smooth Operator’
I google mapped Chicago……………..not on the coast.
Worst song lyrics ever
“There’s an insect in your ear,
If you scratch It won’t disappear” – U2 ‘Staring at the Sun’
Maybe after 30 years Bono’s run out of ideas?!?

“There were plants
and birds

I’ve heard that the 70′s were a particularly difficult time to focus…….
Humility
I was fortunate to attend Willow Creek’s Leadership Summit last week and heard a wide variety of informative and inspiring speakers from around the world, all addressing the topic of leadership. One of the talks that I enjoyed the most was from John Dickson on the topic of Humility. During his talk, Mr Dickson shared a great story about Sir Edmond Hillary, the famous mountaineer.
Some tourists came across Sir Edmond and, recognizing him, asked if they could take some pictures with him. He agreed. During the impromptu photo shoot, someone grabbed an ice pick and handed it to Hillary to hold. While the pictures were being snapped another guy came across the scene, walked up to the group and proceeded to say to the greatest mountain climber to ever live “That’s not how you hold that” and adjusted the pick in Hillary’s hands! Sir Edmonds response..
Thank you.
Humility is an interesting thing. Your impression of Sir Edmond Hillary has now been forever altered for the good. Your respect level for him just went to a whole new level after hearing a story like that.
As for the other guy………….
Two things;
Taking the backseat can often magnify your impact as a leader.
Great leaders don’t always have to prove they are great.

“I don’t want to see a ghost
It’s a sight that I fear the most
I’d rather have a piece of toast
and watch the evening news“
- Des’ree ‘Life’
